j***3For the price, these are great! The material is kind of hard to describe, because it's a thin light polyester but nice and thick enough that when you hold it up to the light there's no transparency. It's stretchy and comfortable with good coverage. The only reason I marked these as small instead of true to size is that I like baggy pants and usually get 2X or 3X depending on the make. I don't remember why I ordered 4X in these except that maybe I read reviews that said they were small, though I'm not looking right now so I don't really remember. ??? Anyway, because I ordered 4X, they are a bit long on me so that I have to fold/roll the elastic waistband inward/down a couple times and then pull them all the way up into my crotch so the legs are a nice length (and they still go all the way to the ground), and yet they fit nicely at a 4X as far as the tightness. I didn't want them too snug, so besides the length, my buying a bigger size than I normally ever would made them so they lie nicely right against my skin on the upper part before the flare but without any stretch/hugging my skin because I didn't want that in a business pant/slacks sort of look (I plan on wearing them to work.). If I had gotten a smaller size, they might have fit up top more like spandex casual stretchy pants, and I didn't want that. So they may actually be true to size depending on how they're SUPPOSED to fit, but I like them looser, just not so long, but I can make them work so 5 stars, especially for the price. And maybe they're supposed to fit snug like spandex up top, so may be true to size. Otherwise, I just wish they had pockets.
